IMO, it's a great synth tailored to studios/homes where you program it slowly. I have a MODX.Even creating a simple split can turn into a hard task, despite the huge touch screen. Definitely the emphasis on few quality sounds and ease of use for stage is what you want in a Combo organ. I'd probably opt for the 61 note version of the YC or SK pro ie, for the waterfall keyboard, and rack it above my MP7SE, so I can play proper organ licks without mashing digits. The Roland has a ridiculous number of sounds lol. So, being limited to "only" a few dozens of sounds might not be that bad.Īlthough, I think the MP7SE and RD2000 do a lot more and operate with more programming via registrations etc than the various Nord clones (CP88, SV2, Grandstand, Crumar etc), which seem designed mainly for live improvement through UI knob control. However for a live gig a stage keyboard such as the Yamaha CP/YC-series, Roland RD-series, Kawai MP-series, etc. Even creating a simple split can turn into a hard task, despite the huge touch screen. I have a MODX and I needed months until I can switch to the paradigm or workstation/synths.
